Tips for testing that Roku is unable to connect to WiFi

Here are some troubleshooting tips for when Roku cannot link to WiFi.

    • Check the cable and Connection of the device
    • Restart the Roku device
    • WiFi Check for interference
    • Check the WiFi and router configuration
    • Make sure your router and Roku firmware are up to date

When you establish the Roku participant or TV for streaming, you must combine this gadget with your home web in the identical way you attach your computer or transportable apparatus. All you have to do is select the wireless network name and type the correct password. It establishes a wireless connection from the Roku device to the home access point or router*. The router then allows credentials to the Internet via broadband assistance delivered by your Internet favor provider or ISP (usually a rope or telephone enterprise).

How do I verify my Connection?

    • To check your Connection, go to Settings on your Roku device. Please access the menu.
    • [Settings] > Network > Check Connection to perform a two-part test. In the first part, we will check connectivity to the home network and test the signal quality. In the second part, we ensure we are connected to the Internet and measure the speed of that Connection.
    • If your wireless signal strength or Internet speed is poor, instructions for resolving the problem will appear on the screen. To better understand the test results, refer to the detailed articles on connectivity checks.

How to Resolve Roku Not Linking to WiFi

If Roku is not connected to WiFi, use the following steps to resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check your Internet connection

Roku requires a good Internet connection. Check if the Internet is working. Here’s how:

    • Open the Home screen. On the left side of the Roku remote control is an arrow. Press it. [Settings] To access, scroll down.
    • [Settings] Use the right arrow on the keyboard to open the menu.
    •  Press the right button once, and then hold the right button until the Network page appears. Read the Company Overview page to learn more about the Connection, such as the connection type, download speed, and signal strength.
    •  You might not be connected to the Internet if you don’t see this information.
    • If you have already verified that you are connected to the Internet and are still experiencing problems, scroll down until Verify Connection appears and choose the OK button.
    • To determine if the issue has been resolved, you should try streaming some content using Roku.
    •  If this has not been fixed, try reconnecting Roku to WiFi.

    Step 2: Restart Roku

The second simple solution is to restart Roku. Ensure that your router, modem, and Roku are connected and in the correct location. Now, restart the device and reconnect to the network.

    • On the left side of the home screen of the Roku remote control is an arrow. Press it. Scroll down to access Settings.
    • Use the right arrow on the keyboard to set Settings. Open the menu. Scroll down to access the System menu.
    • Use the right arrow on the keyboard to open the System menu. To restart the System, scroll down until you see the System continue.
    • Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move to the right and Restart When the options appear, select the OK button.

Step 3: Reset your WiFi router and modem

Check the WiFi network connected to the Roku player. Make sure everything is working properly. Please note the internet speed and all other devices connected to it. If everything is working properly, re-check your router or modem connection. To do this, disconnect the power cord for 10 seconds. Try reconnecting, waiting approximately 2 minutes, and then reconnecting Roku.

If you still cannot connect your Roku to WiFi, try inserting the setup CD or USB stick and setting up the Connection again. Ensure you employ the most delinquent software interpretation of your Roku gadget. If you still need to, please update. It should fix the problem if Roku is not connected to WiFi.If that doesn’t work, try removing the router and modem from the wall and reconnecting them. Then reconnect them. Wait until the power is turned on, then try reconnecting the Roku.

Step 4: Connect the Ethernet Cable to the Roku

    • It avoids WiFi issues and indicates if they relate to Internet services. Follow these steps to connect Roku to your router via an Ethernet cable.
    • Connect the Ethernet cable to the Roku.
    • Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the router.
    • After connecting the ends of the Ethernet cable, start the video on Netflix to see if it will play.

Step 5: Move Roku Close to Router and Modem

Roku requires a signal that is strong enough to establish a connection. The Roku signal may need to be stronger even if the WiFi remote control has a signal bar. Try moving your Roku close to your modem or router. This way, it can connect to a good and powerful WiFi signal. Move the device closer to the cable insertion point if you have a wired connection to your Roku. If you use a wireless LAN (WiFi) with Roku, move the device closer to the router. Whether you choose either method, ensure the signal strength is strong enough.

How to Restart a Modem or Router:

The modem and router may need to be reset to work properly.

    To do this:

    • Discover the authority regulator on your modem or router and turn it off for approximately 30 seconds.
    • After 30 seconds, power the modem or router back on.
    • When the modem or router restarts, connect the Roku device to WiFi again.

Forget your WiFi network and re-establish your Connection:

If you still have problems connecting to WiFi, try to forget your network and re-establish the Connection.

    To do this:

    • [Settings]Go to the screen and select System> Advanced System Settings. Go to > Reset Network Connections.
    • Select the Reset Connection option and press the OK button on the remote control.
    • It will take a while for Roku to restart and forget the details of the WiFi network.

    Use a 5GHz WiFi band:

Low-bandwidth activities typically use 2.4 GHz WiFi. However, the 2.4 GHz band is also prone to interference and signal failure. Therefore, using 5GHz WiFi bandwidth makes it easy to connect to the Internet and stream properly.

The Roku is the best device to operate at higher bandwidth.

    Step 6: Contact Roku Support

If the above steps do not solve the problem, contact Roku Support. You don’t have to worry if Roku is still under warranty. If you cannot connect Roku to WiFi, look for a nearby technician to check your router or modem. Also, if it is faulty, it may require a replacement.

Final thought: Roku Won’t Connect to Wi-Fi

There are several reasons why an Internet connection doesn’t work in Roku, both on the user and device sides, but they are all right and easy to fix. As we’ve already explained, some less serious problems include the distance between the device and the router, the signal strength, and the connection trouble caused by incorrect input on the user side. On the other hand, if you have a more complex problem with network equipment, network ping, WiFi bandwidth, DNS configuration, or the like, you need to be more serious, and if you need help with this, then contact your technician.

In an internet outage, remember there is little more to do than wait. So be forbearing. You can operate your transferable data as a hotspot but guarantee you’re subscribed to a hotspot plan. Customer support is provided as a final option, but if the procedure is too complex to handle alone, please contact help.
