The Rumors about iOS 17:
iOS can now use AI to intelligently isolate you from the background of your photo, drag it and drop it anywhere you want. There is also a continuous camera function that allows you to use a mobile phone as a webcam. The lock screen has a customizable font that allows you to add your favorite wallpaper from your photos. The wallpaper also has an optional depth effect. Live text is currently supported in the video. Freeform whiteboard app, Apple Music Sing, and end-to-end iCloud encryption have recently been announced in the iOS 16.2 update. Unfortunately, Apple removed the parallax effect option from the static wallpaper, and it has gone since the launch of iOS 16.
Every year, Apple adds the long-desired features to iOS in the Android flagship model. The iPhone 14 Pro lineup now includes the Always On Display. Battery percentage and keyboard haptics had been late. The widget was introduced in iOS 14 in 2020, and Apple needed to be more present to join the party.
Focus mode and live text were introduced in iOS 15, and live text has long been a feature of the Google Lens app. As mentioned earlier, iOS 16 also has some features inspired by Android. This article covers all you need to know about iOS 17 and explores what Apple will rent from Android now.
iOS 17: Best Features
Apple announced iOS 17 at WWDC 2023, and the messaging app has been completely redesigned with interesting features like Live Voicemail.
Apple has released iOS 17, the latest software version that runs the iPhone. This year’s major upgrades include a new standby mode that uses widgets to turn the iPhone into a smart bedside clock, a message application update, and a Live.
Voicemail.
The new journal application also allows you to write down your thoughts and save images throughout the day, allowing you to spend some private time. Read on for all the new features.
standby
It is one of the biggest updates for iOS 17, and it’s a new way to interact with the iPhone charging at the bedside. It’s like a smart display where you can view photos, time, and widgets. The demo, published by Apple, also features numerous watch styles and live activities using the entire screen. If you keep an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, the standby mode is always shown on the Always On display, but it will work even if the device does not have this feature. This feature seems most reasonable on iPad, but for now, it is only an iPhone feature.
Update Message App
In iOS 17, the messaging app has been repainted. It includes a voice message transcript and a convenient ” check-in ” feature to let people know they have returned home safely. Other features include inline location sharing, search filtering, swipe, reply, and a new home in the iMessage application.
Live Voice Mail
Live Voice Mail does not force you to answer a phone call you don’t want to receive but instead allows you to transcribe what the other person is talking about so that they can decide whether or not to respond.
Journal app
Journal, a new application in iOS 17, is a convenient service designed to write down your thoughts throughout the day. You can also add images and more to keep track of your day’s activities. The app also uses machine learning to create personalized suggestions for the day-to-day moments, such as the people you spoke to and the music you listened to. Apple reveals that this app is privacy-oriented and can lock the Journal app so people can’t pry out if they don’t want to.
Phone App Update
It’s an overlooked app, but Apple has upgraded the phone app in earnest this time. As with the home screen introduced in iOS 16, the new contact experience introduced in iOS 16 is colorful and bright and has various emoji options and fonts.
Point & Speech
One of the new accessibility features in iOS 17, Point & Speak, makes it easy for visually impaired people to interact with physical objects with text labels. If you point your iPhone camera to something, the design will read the seen text instead. However, this feature is only available on iPhones with LiDAR scanners (iPhone 12 Pro and later Pro models).
Home activity history
The recent activity history in the home app allows you to see who sealed or unlocked the door and when. It also shows recent activities of garage doors, contact sensors, and security systems.
FaceTime
New features in FaceTime for iOS 17 are FaceTime messages. You can leave a simple video message even if the other person can’t answer the phone.
Others
Other updates to iOS 17 include a smart keyboard with enhanced AutoCorrect, support for stickers, interactive widgets, AirDrop number exchange, and automatic typing of verification codes via email.
iOS 17: How to install the beta and full version?
Once they release the final version, it’s comfortable to install iOS 17. Unlock the iPhone Settings app and go to General > Software Updates. iOS will check for available updates and guide you through the installation process. We will guide you through the process of checking for available updates on iOS and installing them. Just follow the instructions in the iOS Update Guide. If you have automatic updates turned on, you can easily install them from the same screen.
However, you can also install a beta version during the period until the release of iOS 17 and for a year after the release. There are two types of beta: Developer Beta and Public Beta. Developer Beta is delivered first, and Public Beta is typically delivered in 1-2 days.
Installing Developer Beta
Installing developer beta requires you to be registered as a software developer for Apple. Previously, developers had to pay $99/79 to access all Apple developer beta, including macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. So, to get the developer beta, follow these steps:
- Download the Apple Developer App from the App Store.
- Open the app and click “Account.”
- Tap Indication to sign in with your Apple ID.
After you log in, you should see a beta version in General> Software Updates > Beta Updates. To do this, you must be running iOS 16.5 or later.
We suggest waiting for the arrival of the public beta to avoid too much complication rather than installing the developer beta.
