9. The Wolf Among Us
Another excellent alternative to Until Dawn is The Wolf Among Us. Produced by Telltale Games, it is one of the developer’s best titles. A mafia game masquerading as interactive drama fused with film noir, The Wolf Among Us and Until Dawn share some similarities, but the former title has some unique features. You play the protagonist, Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of Fabletown. Wolfe’s job is to investigate murders, and when he sets out to investigate one murder, Wolfe quickly learns that several other murders have occurred in his hometown of Fabletown. As such, he is assigned to find out what is going on and solve the mystery of “who did it.” Overall, The Wolf Among Us does a great job of exploring different things that might motivate a person or drive someone to do terrible things, such as killing.
10. Beyond: Two Souls
Games like Until Dawn Beyond: Two Souls explore the possibilities of what an interactive drama can achieve by blending action and adventure. Originally exclusive to PlayStation 3 but now available on PlayStation 4 and Windows. The story follows Jodie Holmes as one of the playable protagonists and a unique intangible known only as Aiden, who has been tied to Jodie since birth. This strange power quickly alienated Jodie from her foster parents and eventually led to her being offered.
11. Batman Arkham VR
